Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Peri Peri Grill House.
Is Peri Peri Grill House halal?
Yes, 100%. All of our chicken and meat is certified halal. We are committed to serving halal food at both our Brooklyn and Long Island locations.
What is peri peri chicken?
Peri peri chicken is a style of cooking that originated in Southeast Africa and was popularized by Portuguese settlers. The chicken is marinated overnight in a sauce made from African Bird's Eye chili peppers (peri peri peppers), then flame-grilled to order. The result is juicy, smoky chicken with bold, customizable heat levels — from mild lemon and herb to extra hot.
What spice levels do you offer?
We offer seven heat levels on our peri scale: Plain-ish (no heat), Lemon & Herb, Garlic, Medium, Hot, Very Hot, and Extra Hot. Whether you prefer zero spice or maximum fire, we have a level for you.
Where are your locations?
We have two locations: Brooklyn at 235 Malcolm X Blvd in Bed-Stuy (917-966-8614), and Bethpage, Long Island at 629 Hicksville Rd (516-261-9953). Both locations offer dine-in, takeout, and delivery.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes! Both locations offer delivery through UberEats and DoorDash. You can also order directly by calling the restaurant for pickup.
Do you cater events?
Yes, we offer catering for events of all sizes. Our family meals and whole chicken platters are perfect for gatherings. Contact us at Periperigh.li@gmail.com or call either location to discuss your catering needs.
What are your hours?
Brooklyn (Bed-Stuy): Tuesday through Saturday 12 PM to 10 PM, Sunday 12 PM to 9 PM, closed Monday. Bethpage (Long Island): Monday through Wednesday 11 AM to 10 PM, Thursday through Saturday 11 AM to 12 AM, Sunday 12 PM to 12 AM.
What makes your chicken different from other restaurants?
Our chicken is marinated overnight for a minimum of 12 hours — not just seasoned on the spot — in our special blend of peri peri spices featuring African Bird's Eye chili. It's then flame-grilled to order over an open flame, not baked or fried. This process earned us a review from The New York Times in 2019, a feature in Gothamist, coverage in Eater NY, and a Newsday spotlight on our Long Island location. With 212+ Yelp reviews and 2 locations serving Brooklyn and Long Island since 2018, we've become one of NYC's most recognized peri peri restaurants.
Do you have vegetarian options?
Yes! We offer falafel burgers and falafel wraps, along with a variety of sides including mixed green salad, peri peri fries, peri peri rice, mac & cheese, lentil soup, and more.
Is there parking available?
Our Bethpage, Long Island location has plenty of free parking. Our Brooklyn location on Malcolm X Blvd has street parking available.
