Yes. Peri Peri Grill House is 100% certified halal at both our Brooklyn (Bed-Stuy) and Bethpage (Long Island) locations. All chicken and meat is sourced from halal-certified suppliers. This is non-negotiable for us — it's part of who we are and the communities we serve.
Peri peri chicken originated in Southeast Africa, where the African Bird's Eye chili — also known as piri piri — grows wild. Portuguese traders encountered the chili and the cooking tradition centuries ago, helping spread it across the world. At Peri Peri Grill House, we honor that tradition: our chicken marinates overnight in our own peri peri spice blend, then hits the open flame for that signature char and smokiness.
We offer 7 levels on our Peri Scale — all packed with flavor, not just heat:
- 1 — Lemon & Herb: No heat. Bright, citrusy, herbaceous.
- 2 — Mango Passion: No heat. Tropical sweetness with depth.
- 3 — Garlic & Herb: No heat. Savory, aromatic, comfort-forward.
- 4 — Jerk BBQ: Mild heat with smoky, sweet notes.
- 5 — Mild: Gentle peri peri heat, accessible for everyone.
- 6 — Hot: Real, satisfying heat with full peri peri flavor.
- 7 — Extra Hot: Maximum flame. For serious chili lovers only.

Three things separate us from everywhere else:
- 12+ hour overnight marinade. Our chicken sits in our peri peri spice blend overnight, not for 30 minutes. The flavor penetrates deep into the meat — you can taste the difference immediately.
- Flame-grilled to order. Every piece goes over live fire. No oven. No fryer. The open flame creates a smoky char while the overnight marinade keeps the inside juicy.

Yes. Our vegetarian options include falafel burgers, falafel wraps, fresh salads, and a variety of sides including fries, rice, and more. Our peri peri sauces are also available on the side for dipping.
Bethpage: Free on-site parking is available at our Long Island location. Brooklyn: Street parking is available on Malcolm X Blvd and the surrounding area. Our Brooklyn location is also easily accessible by subway — the A & C trains stop at Utica Ave, and we're close to Crown Heights, Bushwick, and Brownsville.
